politicisation of speaker of house,
destruction of educated electorate - prisoners, 16 year olds, lack of civil education,
manipulation of education system - left-wing agenda in both secondary and tertiary education,
bribery and manipulation of media - sycophantic 'reality' media,
entrenching to ensure irreversibility of give-away and social manipulation policies,
entrenching of lack of accountability to welfare state,
entrenching of lack of personal responsibility ,
lobbying,
no committment to society - no training, no responibilities in constitution,
politiciastaion of local governance - all about power
We are witnessing not only the demise of democratic and welfare state principle here in New Zealand, but sadly globally. Now, an ever increasing (and majority) of the world now lies outside the drive toward democratic principles
China will soon come to dominate with an economic imperialism abroad, a nationalistic ethnic homogeneity at home, and an unassailable military might in support of all, all based upon a learning that technology underpins the world of tomorrow.

The Middle East and the Maghreb are failing to accommodate their stresses, especially of population growth, and turning increasingly to suppressive theocratic governance, while Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America are similarly responding with increasingly corrupt and authoritarian governance.
Given the increasingly large parts of the world suffering, massive immigration flows will seek solace in those parts of the world perceived (perhaps naively) as offering freedom, opportunity and wealth - Latin and Central Americans fleeing into North America, Africans and Middle Easterners into Europe, and South and East Asians into Australasia). The areas they flee will be increasingly abandoned to the discriminatons, persecutions and corruptions, and the magnitude, speed and nature of the immigration is such that the influence on the social capital of receiving populations may not be benign.
I have little doubt that the future will note that we have already seen the zenith of democratic welfare society and its underlying principles. The future historians will look upon the period from 1860-2060 as the era of a failed 'democratic imperialism' when the principles of democracy were offered to the booming and globalizing world population without success, and the 1930-2050 period contained within as the equally doomed great welfare experiment.
